On The Migration Trail

Packing is always fun, capturing reference shots for studio work for the next years body of art, is exciting.  Today’s tasks, laundry, travel studio pack and supplies, photography equipment, BATTERIES, then a trip into town this afternoon to shop for supplies. Tomorrow cleaning out the RV and packing it up.

Midnight Fly By -Sandhill Crane

Midnight Fly By – Sandhill Crane, hand painted on silk, steam set.

Heading for a week over to the  Nebraska Fly Way, to capture and view the Sandhill Crane migration  along with the other thousands of bird species that will be passing through. This year there are four of us going along and we have already reserved the viewing blinds for next week.

I have generated my list of working supplies and packed up the minimal required to take along with me. Not a small task to make certain I actually get those all into the RV, and what I need. This year we will be taking the GoPro with us, a new addition to our video arsenal. Hopefully we will have given it enough of a practice run to do some great clips to put together some decent work.

Love working on the silk, down to details and feathers. Work in Progress.

Will be posting some of the sketching and photo snaps of what we see from the road as we can.

Next up, spring fishing will be starting here and I am soooooo ready to get down to it.

Take care and hope to see you along the river soon.

Andy
