So many new things happening in 2012.

2/06/2012

I will be participating in Art Lab Fort Collins and am very excited to partner with them to hold classes that will help anyone interested in learning about the ancient art of Silk Painting and learning all about this great medium.  Classes will be held in February and March on the first part of the schedule. Download and print a flyer with all the information on the class.  I am looking forward to going to the SPIN (Silk Painters International)  workshop in Mid July this year in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

I have been busy creating new works and designing many new patterns. Some have been custom works and others just because I now have the time to paint them.

Orchid Series No 1 JAO 38 x 48 Inches

Many of the patterns that I paint, come from the vast amount of research that I have spent hours doing and photos that I have taken in gardens of friends, family  and the wonderful national parks and botanical gardens that I have visited over the years. Passion Flowers JAO As I am asked to create specific works for clients, family and friends, I try to think about the individual who will hang the work. Who is truly the viewing audience? Color schemes that may be surrounding the work. Where will it hang or be placed?  Is it going to be worn or hung?  Nes Perece Scarf on Charmeuse Silk  I have several other pieces of works in progress (WIP), and hope that you will follow the journey I have started this year.  I am enjoying further discovering the ancient art of Silk Painting by sharing it with as many folks who want to know, and what it can show a person about your inner self  as you make the journey. So come on along with me and find out something new about yourself in the process.
