It never seems to matter, when fall arrives, you are either never ready for it, or way past ready. This year I am not prepared, but accepting, what else do you do?
As I begin to paint the last of the summer commissions, I have been thinking about starting a new series of silk paintings, and adding new ones to the website. Again, a lazy summer for me on this computer, and keeping things updated. Constantly being reminded about the Christmas card selection needed this year and Christmas presents everyone wants. So busy time in the studio? Well not so much. I have been procrastinating.
Sooooooo, guess I had better get busy.
Here is the first post of a new series of posts tracking my weekly work. let’s see how this goes.
Once I have developed the pattern, I can begin to test colors and dye mixes. It takes awhile to get that process out of the way, so both the client and I agree on color pallet.
From there the transfer of the approved design is made to the silk and I can begin to paint the design. This is from the first week of work, and the multiple layers begin to go on each petal of the large flower, and on to completion.
Mean while though, I have an appointment with a fly rod and the river. See you soon.
