Anderson R. Moore<\/em><\/span><\/span> western artist. With art in many mediums; metal smith\u00a0 engraver, silk artist, painting in many other mediums. Whats new, over the last five years she has been learning the new skills of hand engraving, horse hair hitching. More to come! Anderson R. Moore has been creating her western art for over thirty years. She is well known for her western art including, her Teepees,\u00a0 fly fishing and scratch board art and now engraving and hitching horse hair.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>She has shown her art in Seattle, Idaho and most recently in Colorado.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ms Moore is a member of Cowgirl Artists of America.

Hobbies<\/strong> <\/em><\/h3>\n

Fly fishing, western art, engraving, hitching horse hair, making cowboy western art and photography and of course art- in all mediums.<\/p>\n

Silk Art Process
\n<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Anderson R. Moore most importantly has expanded her means of expressing her western art views using the ancient art of Silk Painting.\u00a0 In the process of silk painting she is continuing to perfect her own style in a specialized technique taught to her by Karen Sistek, Master Silk Painter from Port Angeles, Washington.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The techniques of applying dyes to silk with brushes and steam set dyes is an art form that the artist learns over time. Once the artist completes a painting, they steam and rinse it, then mounted in varying ways. Silk art generally hangs without glass, enabling the viewer to continue to feel and visualize the natural luminescence of the silk and vibrant colors of the dyes used.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Anderson teaches classes in silk painting for beginners and advanced artists in both a classroom setting and private instruction. <\/span><\/p>\n

Western Artist Statement<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

“I grew up along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, playing in the Cache La Poudre River in northern Colorado. For that, I feel very privileged. Getting to\u00a0 create western art, paint and fish other magical rivers in the Mountain States, Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, has been a blessing. To be a western artist has been a blessing in my life.<\/p>\n

\"Anderson<\/a>If I ever have to move,\u00a0 I will always be connected to the west. Many of my silk art inspirations come from long days spent fishing on a river and tying flies stream-side. I am so blessed and privileged to live and travel the most spectacular and pristine wilderness around the world.
