Fall Fishing and Painting starts and ends all in two weeks or so.<\/p>\n

Every year I say I am taking another week, another week to fish, camp, hike, meet old friends along the river etc. Do you think I should squeeze more into three weeks than just<\/p>\n

Big Hole River<\/p><\/div>\n

two? I don’t think so. Fished the Big Hole River, East Gallatin, Madison, and then a hot -fast and furious attempt at the Beaverhead. What a wild fast time, on top of that found time on the way home, (actually made time) to see some of the sites in Yellowstone I never had time to see before.<\/p>\n

This year I found a good place to do some quick day wade fishing along the Beaverhead thanks to Tim Tollet over at Frontier Anglers in Dillion<\/a>. Dad had to stop in to see Tim on some store business so we took a little time out of Tim’s schedule and had a good visit. Then fished a bunch, great time good fishing.\u00a0 I was able to go fishing along the East Gallatin River using a wonderful Block Management Program for access, and having a blast, fishing trico’s. Visiting our longtime fishing friend Kenn Ligas with the Wild Planet Films<\/a> Foundation, river guide, pro-tier extraordinaire, artist. Should follow their Photography Tours Facebook<\/a> page. Awesome folks over there.<\/p>\n

From that point leaving the beautiful Gallatin Valley driving down south and beginning a regretful<\/p>\n

exit back home, but happy to be fishing the last days of my license in Montana, then down through the park, via West Yellowstone. Much of my trip was spent working on a new scratchboard when I had some down time, and journaling about the trip.\u00a0 All enjoying the fall weather and animals they were luck enough to see. I painted a short while iff the famed Artist Point, toured the Artists Paintpots, and of course visited the Park’s Upper and Lower Falls view points.<\/p>\n

Once in the Park, I had a chance to visit with some other photographers and travelers. During the visit through the park I was hoping for a large variety of animals to capture, but not on this trip, three buffalo and distant elk with no numbers to even think herds, all singles.<\/p>\n

Yellowstone River<\/p><\/div>\n

Fall has inspired me to get back in the studio and begin the process of regeneration, of me and of my art. Will feel good to be painting again and getting back to the winter schedule. Many of you know about my fall schedule for instruction in Silk Painting<\/a>, and the other classes<\/a> I offer. I hope this year to add a few more to round out the schedule.
